Held on 1st-2nd April, the Keynote speaker was Terry Hicks from the USA, Mike Thompson, President of the ACPGBI. Sessions included faecal incontinence, colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease.
Arterial blood gases are invaluable in the assessment of the critically ill patient, and can often be used to determine the success or failure of a treatment modality. This talk, through the use of examples, will aim to clarify the use of blood gas analysis in the critically ill, and discuss some of the newer developments in the interpretation of acid-base disturbances.
